Poseidon adventure

Well another remake of a film that never needed it, Got to watch the latest Hollywood has to offer in the way of big budget, big (ish) cast. I say ish as Kirk Russle is in it and I know he has done some big films and im not saying he is bad at what he dose but he has been round the block a few times.
The original was made in 1972 and stared Gean Hakman and was. Nope is fantastic. With real depth and a sense you are in the thinks of things fighting for your life and now 20 years on we have a more up-to-date version for people of the world, so instead of models and cheap sets (compared to today's sets) we have stunning visual affects, huge and expensive sets and a stuning sound track (many times I looked round thinking there was someone there but it was just the sound of dripping water from the surround speakers) which for me makes up for the fact the film however polished doesn't do one better than the original

I think you are a little harsh about Kirk Russle (or Kurt Russell as we like to call him in my neck of the woods). He's done some brilliant films through the years... The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, Tango & Cash, Backdraft, Tombstone, Stargate, Escape from New York ...to name but a few!
